About Lindsey Yates

About me: When I first started college I started out in Accounting, but I changed my major a few times before coming back to Accounting. I have always had a love for numbers, and I knew that's where I needed to be. I have always loved doing word problems, Sudoku puzzles, and many other number associated activities. I got involved in Accounting when I started working part time at Northgate RV Center during the summer of 2013. I became familiar with QuickBooks at the time. I ended up moving to Knoxville for about a year, and this is when I actually changed my major. I went from Accounting to Education, because I have always had a love for children. I ended up getting involved with different school programs to see how I really liked it. At the same time, I also started working at Chadwick's Churn for a little while. As I got into the core classes, I did not feel as though I was being challenged, and this is when I went back to Accounting. I am now at UTC with about a year left after this semester. I feel like Accounting gives me more of a challenge, and I am learning something new each and every day. I am not only challenged at school, but also with my job. I am starting to do more at my job, and I am able to see how everything fits together. Accounting is something that I feel will challenge me everyday of my life, and help keep me learning each day. Education: Currently a student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Expected graduation date is May 2018. Work Experience: Currently employed at Northgate RV Center as assistant bookkeeper. I help assist with payroll, posting payment receipts, accounts payable, input of camper deals, and sales tax. Previous Work Experience: Chadwick's Churn 2014- Operated the cash register, performed closing duties, maintained a clean environment, organized take-out orders, provided quick and friendly customer service.
