About Liz Carruthers

I am an experienced LX learning experience designer, instructional designer/developer, and technical author for a wide range of blue chip organisations. I have extensive experience of researching content and working with subject experts to transform content into effective and engaging learning. Working with an art director to define visual and multimedia approaches as appropriate for the solution, and pitching design concepts to client stakeholders at every level. Creating detailed design documentation, including detailed content scopes from running engaging workshops with clients. Excellent knowledge of learning theory and an expertise in the whole Instructional Design lifecycle, including high-level training design and specification, interactive screen design and storyboarding. My creative expertise is in graphic, animation and video editing, focusing largely on the conceptual design and development of a new web site/product. Involvement in projects includes all phases, from proposals, requirement specifications through to detailed content, involved development and curriculum maintenance. I have a sound understanding how to get the best from a variety of in-house and off the shelf authoring tools, such as Storyline, Gomo, Lectora, Captivate and Adapt. I also have extensive project management experience with skills in developing relationships both internally and externally. My clients have included those from the financial, retail, automotive, industrial, utilities and hospitality sectors.
