I am Ikerbasque Research Associate Professor at Biogipuzkoa and affiliated researcher at CIBERNED. I am group leader of the ‘Neurogenetics, RNA biology and therapies’ group, currently composed by 8 full-time basic researchers, including three postdoctoral researchers, 5 PhD students and one computational scientist ( The main goal of NeuroRNA lab is to understand the molecular basis of neurological diseases. Specifically, the group is focused on (i) the study of RNA-misprocessing using a variety of molecular, functional and high-throughput sequencing approaches;(ii) the development of novel therapeutic strategies based on the manipulation of RNA-misprocessing using established and novel RNA-targeting approaches.
