About Lorne Phillips

Lorne Phillips' last position was Director of Operations at the DB Piping Group. The main part of his responsibilities was overseeing the Operations and Supply Chain teams for our Canadian and US units. Previous to this he held dual positions of Branch manager for three units and Director of Marketing for the DB Piping Group. In his role, Lorne focuses on business planning and strategic development and was responsible for the business's overall performance. In addition, Lorne lead the US sales team for the loose pipe and fittings segment and headed the marketing for the group including print, online and social media. Lorne lead the divestment from OSTP to a new ownership group that has a long-term vision for the company, this change provided the unit the ability to grow and move forward strengthening their product portfolio and market share. Lorne is experienced in all aspects of the value chain has spent over 20 years in different leadership roles including Operations, Supply Chain and Sales which taught him the importance of building and developing a strong team. With his support, these teams have been able to implement lean manufacturing systems which lead to increased sales and revenue while reducing the overall cost structure through reduced waste. These activities were achieved while maintaining a high commitment to the company’s stakeholders as demonstrated through health and safety awards and corporate recognition for both culture and customer satisfaction leadership. In addition to Lorne’s career with Outokumpu and 3M Canada, Lorne has been a member of three Boards of Directors and continues to volunteer his time for local charities and sports groups. These activities as well as travel for business and pleasure have enabled Mr. Phillips to grow an extensive network of professional contacts. Lorne holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada with a focus on Global Leadership. This along with his business experience gives Mr. Phillips the ability to lead a company towards achieving much higher and sustained performance.
