About Luca Riga
Since 2018, I have volunteered my time with the Toronto Titans Hockey Club in the role of Team Statistician. I attend and observe the team’s games, during which I track and record the team's in-game statistics in real time and analyze data to assist the coaches in making important decisions. This role has assisted me in developing many leadership skills. While working alongside the Team coaches I am able to experience first-hand what it is like to lead a team and make difficult decisions under pressure. The data I compile is used by the coaches to devise strategies which bring out the best in the players’ abilities. The Team applies my statistics and analytics in their decision making which significantly contributes to achieving overall team success. I also learn different leadership skills from the various captains on the team by observing how they bring the team together to achieve success.
