Care Leavers can (and will) be lawyers too I am a pupil barrister at East Anglian Chambers, having been called to the Bar in 2021. I was awarded a Middle Temple Major Scholarship in 2020. I am accredited by the Scottish Law Society as a Trauma-Informed Lawyer (2023). In 2024, I was shortlisted for my social mobility advocacy as one of the 100 faces in a Universities’ UK #100faces campaign. In June 2024, I was published by the Bar Council in an article titled ‘Raising the Bar: Care-experienced people belong here’, the UK’s first case for inclusion of care-experienced people within the legal profession. Further, I am CEO and Co-Founder of Lawyers Who Care, the UK’s first and only organisation to facilitate long-term mentoring and paid work experience opportunities for care-experienced aspiring lawyers. Public Speaking: I am a keynote speaker focusing on social mobility and inclusion. I have delivered multiple leading addresses, for example the 2023 NAVSH conference, 2023 NCCTC conference and 2023 AimHigher conference. In 2018, I conducted a TEDx talk titled ‘The Dreaded Drama Triangle' on a psychology theory relating to conflict resolution.
