About Luke Buchan

My name is Luke and I am a Picture Editor for film & television currently based in the Greater Toronto Area. It has been my dream ever since I bought my first digital camera and brought clips onto my first timeline (which was probably movie maker) to work with others to make stories come to life. I love the puzzle of working tirelessly to make cuts look just right and invoke the intended emotion in the viewer. I know a lot about editing workflow, the ingest process and other technical processes such such as syncing dual system slates, creating proxies and efficient project organization; these skills make me a good Assistant Editor. I am genuinely humbled by the complexity of the editing process in general and know I have a lot to learn, but I do have a passion for it which is what drives me forward. I believe I would add something to a team and I have a deep respect for the hierarchical nature of the industry. I'm always looking for an experienced hand and advice on the proper way to do things, as well as to add my own flare of creativity to any environment I find myself in. Let's create something special!
