About Mac Layne

As a development consultant in the nonprofit/social impact sector I have raised funds and created growth strategies for organizations in the Bay Area with annual budgets ranging from less than to over $2.5 million. This breadth of experience has given me insight into the unique development needs of both small and mid-to-large size organizations, and I am passionate about partnering with mission-driven changemakers to build their funding strategies and streamline their development processes. By easing the burden of researching and connecting with funders/investors, writing/managing grant applications and reports, creating budgets, tracking deadlines and program data, etc, I hope to help growing nonprofits and small businesses find the time and space to focus as much energy as possible on the programs, activities, and people needed to turn their visions into reality. In addition to raising funds, I also have proven experience managing critical projects needed for organizations in the social sector to achieve their goals. From continued grant management after initial funding has been secured (including guiding program evaluation processes, reporting, and maintaining relationships with funders and other stakeholders) to creating and conducting trauma-informed community needs assessments and resident-led governance boards, I have successfully managed a range of multi-faceted projects with lasting organizational impact.
