About Madison Barben

I am an emerging museum and history professional with a master's in history and experience with public history, research, and education. I have 3 years of museum and public history experience and 4 years of teaching experience. I am passionate about history and its relevance to the present and the future, and I aim to cultivate this in others through exhibits and education. I am interested in creating historical projects that engage the public and promote historical understanding. In my previous roles, I developed skills in research, exhibit creation, archival processing, and digital history. I have also gained valuable experience leading collaborative group study sessions, creating diverse lesson plans, and designing and leading class lectures that explored the origins of current problems in historical and global contexts. I enjoy helping students develop their critical thinking to engage and connect with the past, present, and future. Additionally, I have participated in multiple conferences and workshops, where I presented my research and learned from other scholars in the field. My research areas include: Local History, Methodist History, Public History, 20th-century German-American History, Transnational History, Religious History
