About Madison Brooks

I currently work as World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana as the Exchange Program Manager. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of North Georgia in May 2019. I also minored in French Language and Literature. I received a Master of Arts degree in Intelligence and Security Studies from Augusta University in May 2021. During my time in the program, I conduced several research projects. Examples include conducting research on the U.S.' approach in Iraq, and how the state-building efforts may have been more successful if the U.S. had used a culturalist approach as opposed to a realist approach and the importance of Oman in Middle Eastern conflict negotiations. Furthermore, I obtained my TEFL Certificate in November 2019. While in graduate school, I was a graduate research assistant for one of the MAISS program professors. I helped him conduct research into a variety of topics including the development of AI capabilities in developed and developing country militaries and election violence. I also interned at Alif Institute in Atlanta, Ga where I created social media and video content and helped design and facilitate community events. The accomplishments that I am most proud of are winning a Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic in Ibri, Oman for 9 weeks during the Summer of 2018 and being inducted into the Omicron Sigma Sigma Order of the Sword and the Shield Honor Society.
