About Madison Griffiths
I am a writer and artist whose work has been published in VICE, SBS, Overland, Daily Life, Meanjin, Kill Your Darlings, pedestrian.tv, Going Down Swinging and more. I am also an online editor at literary youth journal, Voiceworks and the co-host (alongside comedian Lucinda Price) of pedestrian.tv’s mental health podcast, No Chill. I am currently producing, hosting and writing the podcast 'Tender': a thoughtful audio series about what happens once women leave abusive relationships, described as "powerful and poignant" by the Financial Times. In March of 2018, I was the Victorian Women’s Trust resident writer. In 2017, I was shortlisted for the 2017 Overland Fair Australia Prize and in September of 2018, I was shortlisted for the Scribe Nonfiction Prize. My work revolves predominantly around issues concerning women, resistance, race and the body. I have spoken at writers festivals across the country, including the NGV Triennial, the Emerging Writers’ Festival (including the Digital Writers’ Festival), the Melbourne Writers’ Festival and the National Young Writers’ Festival.
