About Madison King

Who Am I? My academic title portrays me as a student of a foreign language and gender studies, close to completing her tenure at a well-known academic insitution. In reality, my journey has only just begun. I am an opportunist at heart, curious to a fault, with a list of goals that never seems to end. The yearning for more knowledge is what drives me and I crave experiences that will not only expand my mind but who I am as a person. What Are My Passions? To be clichè, my passions are to change the world. Spending these last few years surrounding myself with the work of activists that birthed feminist discourse, criticial race theory, and queer ideologies has changed my view of the world today. Activism is about taking action, however small, to will your vision for the future into existence and what else could be more meaningful. A very wise professor of mine said that,"teaching is an insurgent act," therefore I expect my ground-breaking, society-shifting, world changing work to come out of a classroom. What's In My Future? The center of my future is education and experiences that allow me to be consistently learning new things. I have wanted to earn my PhD for quite sometime, therefore my next steps involve finding the right program that can make that happen. In ten years, I hope to be teaching the next generation of college students about the same queer theorists and feminist thinkers that made me want to change the world.
