Background
About Maggie Denk
I am the Director of Camping and Recreation for Easterseals Camp Challenge in Sorrento, Florida. Camp Challenge offers barrier-free recreation for children and adults with disabilities. I am also a licensed mental health counselor specializing in working with individuals that have experienced abuse or trauma, specifically children in high conflict divorce situations, physical and sexual abuse victims, and individuals with disabilities. I currently work as a counselor with Forward Paths, an organization that provides services to unaccompanied homeless youth and young adults that have aged out of the foster care system. I have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. My dissertation research focused on the experience counselors working with individuals that have intellectual disabilities. I recently began teaching adjunct at Seattle University.
