About Maggie Herskowitz

I'm a storyteller and scientist, passionate about using art to educate and entertain :) I work professionally as a screenwriter, playwright, lyricist, librettist, and actress while writing scientific papers on and volunteering in the animal welfare sector. As an actress, I trained in musical theatre at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee before moving to NYC and working mostly on the stage. As a games writer/developer, I was one of two writers on the original indie hit "Monster Prom," with over downloads and a Nintendo Switch release, and continued on the team for its sequels "Monster Prom: Second Term,""Monster raised on Kickstarter), and "Monster Prom: Reverse." I'm a lead writer on an FMV for a new studio (shh!) As a screenwriter, my feature screenplay has won multiple screenwriting competitions. and is currently looking for a home:) If you're looking for a quirky LGBTQIA+ coming-of-age comedy. hit me up! I was also a writer on Facebook Watch's "Rival Peak" and live-action companion show "Rival Speak" starring Wil Wheaton, on which I also guest-starred as an actress. Musical theatre writing includes Between Gods and Kings (Off-Bway at Bedlam Bar), Loch Lomond (Broadway Rose, Oregon), Princess Ten Ten and the Dark Skies (SoCal tour), and The Edelweiss Pirates (Northeast Children's Theater Company). Straight plays include The Great Big Blue (Drama League Residency), Fitzwilliam Loves Lizzy (Manhattan Repertory Theater), The Maid and The Chorus Are Alive (Governor's Island PublicWorks Residency), and Wellness (American Shakespeare Center New Contemporaries Semi-Finalist).
