About Mairead Oconnor
My main areas of expertise are (1) cancer prevention and (2) cancer survivorship. I have conducted several studies around HPV infection in the context of cervical cancer and head and neck cancers. I have led and managed a number of research projects with CERVIVA and the National Cancer Registry of Ireland. In 2019, l carried out the first scoping review in Ireland around the unmet needs of cancer survivors. My other research interests include behavioural science, public health and research methodology. Passionate about the HPV vaccine and scicomm. Associate Editor with BMC Cancer. Committee member with IPSON (Irish Psycho-Social Oncology Society Network)
