I love working with people and helping them gain the skills and resources that they need to live a healthy and safe life free from abuse. From helping with our Domestic Violence Jail support group to Lunch in learns for different members of the community to spread awareness of the shift in the face of DV. Over the last decade there has been a big change in DV where more people are coming to us not only with DV but substance use disorder and other mental health. I also have learned to multitask well and have plenty of experience answering the phone and not knowing what the situation will be on the other side.
