About Marc Ahmelman

Philanthropy is about giving back and finding true enjoyment in giving. My passion is to work with people who believe in and can influence positive social change through philanthropy. I have daily conversations that bring people who love to give together with charities or projects that have the most meaning to them. I do this by aligning their values, interests and goals. Rather than ‘cheque book’ giving I focus on what really matters to individuals and corporations, and we work in partnership to develop a giving strategy that has longevity and makes a difference. Philanthropy has a critical role to play in social change, and it’s a goal of mine to see the industry thrive. My interest flows into how social capital will change the face of philanthropy as the line between donor and social impact investors draws closer. I also support charities to apply for grants and develop a grants strategy that will see them benefit long term. Each year millions of dollars in funding and donations become available to charities. But it’s not always clear or easy to apply. My focus is to help them take a piece of this funding, ultimately making a greater contribution to their communities.
