About Marc Riu

I am a PhD researcher at Eurecat – Technology Centre of Catalonia, specializing in omics sciences (metagenomics, metabolomics, proteomics, peptidomics and lipidomics). My research focuses on the functional screening of bioactive compounds and their preclinical evaluation using models such as Caenorhabditis elegans.I work at the intersection between biotechnology, plant–soil health, and environmental resilience, applying multi-omics tools to understand biological responses to biotic and abiotic stress. My current projects integrate agrobiotechnology and health research, linking molecular insights to sustainable solutions that improve both crop performance and mental health outcomes.Passionate about translational research, I aim to bridge the gap between fundamental science and real-world impact through omics integration, model organisms, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
