Lewis I’m security and safety professional with over 30 years of accumulated experience, 23 of them with International Organizations. My approach to security and safety is data driven. Good assessments and honest communication are the basis of any risk management. Internationally I have worked with the Enterprise Risk Management model and its twin, the UN Security Risk Management system. In the last 20 years I have prepared country- and executive level decision-makers in medium- and high risk environments, advising in conflict and post conflict countries and in politically sensitive environments, policy making and strategic planning. I have planned for and managed mass casualty incidents, hostage Incidents, Natural Desasters, medical evacuations (COVID-19) and crises with severe reputational risks to my clients. I am passionate about applied systemic thinking and constant organisational development, effective knowledge management and the creative use of technology in the field of security management and -communication. And I never found it hard to drive change and innovation in my area of work, be it leading from within a team or in a formal management position. As a manager I have created, unified and led teams, empowered by trust and knowledge. I consider diversity and inclusion powerful force multipliers. In security management as in most jobs, there is nothing more exciting and inspiring than solving tough problems with an excellent team.
