About Marcus Collier
I am an Associate Professor of Sustainability Science at Trinity College Dublin. I research and lecture in social-ecological systems, landscape ecology, novel ecosystems, and transdisciplinarity (co-creation and co-design of sustainability solutions). I was the PI of the TURAS Project from 2011 - 2016, followed by the PI of the Connecting Nature Project from 2017 - 2022. These projects devised and tested frameworks for building urban resilience, addressing climate and social issues in cities, and innovating with nature-based solutions. In 2021, I started a new 5-year research project called NovelEco This is a citizen science research project measuring societal attitudes towards urban novel ecosystems and is funded by my European Research Council Consolidator grant.
