About Marek Beran

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Intelligent Buildings at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU in Prague, with a strong interest in building performance, energy engineering and sustainability. Alongside my studies, I am gaining hands-on experience working part-time at Enesa in energy management, which allows me to apply and deepen my knowledge in this rapidly evolving field. Previously, I worked at Mubea in the Process Engineering department, focusing on belt tensioners manufacturing. As part of my Bachelor's thesis, I utilized simulation models to improve the efficiency of the assembly line, which provided me with practical problem-solving and optimization skills. I also had the opportunity to study abroad through the Erasmus program in Graz, where I continued exploring my field of study, gaining new insights into renewable energy production, utilization, and storage, while also getting my first exposure to building performance simulation. Alongside this, I joined a Product Innovation challenge. Our team worked on enhancing the safety of chainsaws, a project that, although outside my primary field of study, gave me valuable experience working in a diverse, international student team. I consider my strengths to be my systematic approach, which enables me to deal with working under pressure, strong communication skills, directness, and a quick adaptability to new challenges. While still at the beginning of my career, I am eager to continue learning and growing, and I remain open to exploring diverse opportunities that align with my professional and personal development.
