About Maria Berglund

I have always cared about helping others and giving back. My mom was a single mom who raised my sister and me while having little to no income. Our community gave us the help we needed, and now I get to pay that forward through my work. I started In Kind Boxes after having my children, and realizing how hard it is to be a parent without the added worry of not being able to afford the essentials you need to take care of your family. I believe everyone deserves quality postpartum care. At In Kind we’re being a village for families who don’t have one of their own, and I pinch myself daily for getting to volunteer my time to this mission. Being an entrepreneur has many challenges, but I’ve found that a lot of them relate to motherhood as well. Using the mantra “why not me” (which I read in Brittany Hennessy’s book Influencer) has helped me step out of my own way, and make my dream a reality. In the future I hope to use the knowledge I’ve gained to help other female founders to do the same.
