Mariam Thomas is an APM PMQ-certified Civil Engineer with a master’s in Transportation Engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Project Manager at Mott MacDonald, seconded to Great British Nuclear. She is also the Deputy Lead of the Women in Project Management (WiPM) Interest Network at the Association for Project Management (APM)—a voluntary leadership role that reflects her passion for inclusion, mentorship, and empowering women across the profession. A full member of APM (MAPM) and a certified PMO Practitioner, Mariam seamlessly integrates her civil engineering expertise into her role as a project manager. With a strong track record in stakeholder management and communication, she excels at building relationships, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring alignment across diverse teams. She has a natural ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights and fostering a positive, solutions-focused environment. Married to Dr. Nidhin Koshy (MS Ortho) and a devoted mother of two young boys, Mariam returned to the workforce in 2021 after a career break of over five years. A trained public speaker, passionate reader, and dedicated collector of fiction novels, she is also a skilled macramé artist—having crafted the mandala displayed above her profile picture.
