About Marissa D.

I am a dedicated mental health and victims' advocate with a strong focus on supporting survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and suicide prevention. Since 2019, I have worked in nonprofit mental health, ensuring survivors have access to compassionate care, resources, and support. As a survivor of rape and domestic violence, my advocacy is deeply personal. I understand the challenges survivors face and the isolation that often comes with trauma. This lived experience drives my commitment to creating safe spaces where people feel heard, validated, and empowered in their healing. Suicide prevention is also a core part of my work. Too many lives are lost to untreated mental health struggles, and I strive to reduce stigma, provide education, and connect individuals with life-saving resources. Beyond direct support, I advocate for systemic change to expand access to mental health services and survivor support. I believe healing should never be faced alone, and no one should suffer in silence. My work is about ensuring people know they are not alone, that their experiences matter, and that help is available.
