About Mark Abbott

I am 39 years old and after completing my FdSc degree in Computers, Networking and Software Development with Plymouth University back in 2021. I was unsure on what I was going to do with the qualification, I got a job as an IT Systems Developer at TJ Books in Padstow, where I would gained first-hand skills needed to put in practise what I have learnt at Uni. While I was there, I started up a company called Kernow Data Solutions, I would like to return to full time employment to gain more skills. KDS will be done in my own time. After careful deliberation, my family and I have made the exciting decision to embark on a relocation adventure to a new city. This move will provide us with a fresh start and offer me the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to advance in my field of work. Over the course of the degree, I have learned to design and create different codes. From learning how to code in C, PHP MySQL & Java as well as CSS/ HTML for web development programs; it has been an invaluable skill that allows me not only see things more clearly but also helps me to learn new technologies faster than I would be able to without this level of expertise! I was lucky enough to be able learn real world work experience through the tech industry by programming for a publication company who had vast database links linking into their current CMS system as well at the factories where machines were connected. This is when I put my PHP and SQL skills into practice and realized how much fun it can be if you are not scared of data! I also enjoy in my spare time creating websites using WordPress and using different types of sources like Skillshare, YouTube, and Google Scholar as a research method. The tasks that I have been involved in before attending university, including designing, and implementing multiple websites, which used a Content Management System for Abbotts Event Hire which was hosted on MySQL servers. When the company moved into the current building back in 2015, we had to redesign the stock database using a Waterfall Method for Abbotts Event Hire, due to the upscaling of products being held in the warehouse. I have maintained an extremely high level of customer care and support within the event industry for over 15 years, from the brides and grooms to particularly important corporate clients and the repeat customer database.
