I am self motivated and a skilled negotiator with a proven track record of conflict resolution. I foster an engaging leadership approach developing a positive can do attitude. Currently I lead a number of challenging areas of work and take a leading role in regional sub-groups and working forums. I lead on a DVLA Devolved Power Partnership to lift untaxed vehicles from our streets and compliment the Abandoned Vehicle service. My brilliant team carry out exhaustive investigations into fly tipping and early presentation of waste enabling formal actions, community guidance and a basis for me to develop local strategies. I am leading in procurement, most recently with stray dog service provision. Being UKAS accredited I oversee a sampling and risk assessment regime to safeguard drinking water supplies and am introducing commercial sampling opportunities. I oversee the issue of restriction and prohibition notices where necessary and liaise with the Drinking Water Inspectorate and UK Health Security Agency. I lead complex drainage investigations and initiated, applied for and supported major first time sewerage schemes. I engage with local communities, their representatives and with the Environment Agency and water company to seek solutions to pollution incidents. I promote foul drainage schemes that meet with BS6297 and the General Binding Rules. I champion bathing water and recreational water quality issues, responding to matters relating to the revised bathing water directive and increasing public concern over combined sewer discharges into our rivers and sea. I am in liaison with the water company about them providing near real time information on CSO spills. I have coordinated a joint Authority narrative response to the Environment Agency consultation over their river basin management plan. I have issued site licences, deposited site rules and determine fit & proper person applications to manage residential 'park home' sites, working with the Local Planning Authority on unregulated sites. My roles in EP have included nuisance work (noise, dust, smoke etc) dealing with significant cases, I have engaged with large scale pest control investigation/enforcement, securing buildings against unauthorised entry, public health funerals, dog issues, CPN's and PSPO's. In addition I deal with consultations on premises licences, TEN's and planning applications.
