About Mark Hewitt

It took me a long time to discover where I excel and what I love doing. But meanwhile I gathered a toolbelt of experiences and skills which now enable me to provide the highest standards of performance for my colleagues and clients. My ability to talk to anyone, face challenges and uncertainties with resolution and ingenuity, and an open approach to culture and experience was refined in a year and a half travelling miles around Canada, the US and Mexico - mostly hitch-hiking. I've worked at every level from cleaning crew at an Immigration Detention Centre to providing tech support to a logistics consultant for a national supermarket chain. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I'll turn my hand to any job that needs doing. At Bedford College I've tended bar in the training restaurant, coordinated short courses, social media, provided data entry and tech support to multiple departments and facilitated the transition to a new awarding body for an in-demand Food Safety programme. Having run a successful web design business for over 15 years I'm accustomed to taking projects from conception to execution, liasing with stakeholders and delivering polished results. I've created complete or online branding solutions for local and international organisations, including national lighting supplier Cryselco (for whom I also designed and edited the annual sales catalogue for several years). My passion is for learning and continuously improving myself, and helping others discover and achieve everything they're capable of - whether they need a listening ear, technical support, training or a complete admin solution. In the last year I've acquired qualifications in both Counselling and Training Skills, taught myself programming in Python and written my own to-do list software, helped to plan and host a workshop for a Staff Development Day and hitch-hiked from Bedford to Dorset. I love to learn, I love to deliver a great service, and most of all I love to say "Yes".
