I am an experienced leader, policy professional and planner. motivated by delivering real change for individuals and communities. I started my career working overseas with communities to design and deliver humanitarian and development programmes. I then focused on UK civil/military planning, and led multiple cross-government strategy development and operational planning exercises focusing on the UK’s engagement in Afghanistan. More recently I moved to DfE and am currently Deputy Director for International Education Strategy and Partnerships. I am passionate about creating an inclusive culture. This flows from my personal experience as someone who stammers, and my belief that everyone deserves to find their voice. I am DfE’s first Stammering Ambassador and participate in an international programme that offers practice job interviews to people who stammer.
