About Mark Lowman

I am an Installation artist, a freelance Engineer/Technician, a designer, teacher and co-founder of Create Space London, a charitable organisation facilitating the creative industries. More specifically my art work is mainly sculptural, often kinetic, but always containing some method of flux, be it physical or psychological. The use of physicality and movement is intrinsic to a process, which attempts to use inclusion, through the medium of installation, to relay humanistic concepts. In respect to the Engineering and fabrication I work as a sole trader under 'Form and Fabricate'. Mainly working for a large scale artist and designer called Danny Lane, whilst working on some smaller more bespoke commission for the art industry. My previous teaching experience has ranged from the practical, working with foundation to PhD students, to a lecturer capacity with Degree and A level students, all within the creative industries. During this period of teaching I also started up a charitable organisation called Create Space London, offering affordable studio spaces with practical facilities and services. More recently I have been focused on Sustainable Design, with a recent enrolment on a Masters at Brighton University, along with some smaller preparatory courses such as macroeconomics and urban design.
