About Mark Moran

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile! I'm a Senior ICT Cloud Services Engineer currently working at the LGMA who is passionate about technology with over 20 years experience in IT. I've worked on a variety of projects throughout that time which have exposed me to various technologies and given me many of the skills I have today. I'm currently working with the Microsoft Power Platform (in particular Power Automate and Power Pages), SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics 365 and many other Microsoft cloud technologies that empower LGMA staff in their daily work lives. I started out with Microsoft Ireland as a software test engineer with responsibility for the localisation of Visual Studio.NET into the Russian language. Early on in my time with Microsoft the 'blaster' worm wreaked havoc with Windows and XP machines and I was heavily involved in the testing and deployment of patches via Windows Update. Colleagues know me as a highly efficient problem solver who can always be relied upon to get stuck in and help solve any technical issues. I spend a lot of time reading about technology and figuring out how it can make our organisation more agile. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best when collaborating with others. I'm passionate about knowledge sharing and explaining complex problems and solutions in a non complex manner. This is what led me to undertake the JEB ICT Teacher's diploma and become a part time IT tutor. Teaching and tutoring in some form or another has been a big part of my career to date with a particular focus on IT technical training which I thoroughly enjoy. Late last year I took time out and completed the Cambridge CELTA. Since then I've been volunteering as an English language teacher on a part time basis.
