About Mark Woo

From my first games company job I learned "Do it first, ask for forgiveness later." From my first lead game designer I learned "Take the extra step to figure it out yourself."From my decade+ long career in smaller game studios I learned "Do more with less."In a vacuum each of these lessons can be detrimental not beneficial. I take the best of each of these lessons to heart in my career. Being proactive, bringing solutions with the problems, taking time to understand the process, but asking for help if it will save time and always finding 'high KPI impact, low production effort' ideas. My favourite thing as a Lead Game Designer is to find innovative cost effective design ideas to solve interesting design problems. I enjoy trusting and giving autonomy to my design team while providing clear direction for the project I'm on. I grew up across 4 different countries and moved around a ton as a kid and I pride myself on that adaptability across my work and my life.
