About Markos Koletsas

I am Markos Koletsas and I am a student at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I am no longer obligated to be present in any of my classes and I will also be dismissed from my military service obligations. Soon I will be finishing my studies and getting my degree with an average of 8.5+(out of 10). The field of my studies is Informatics, and my technological direction is Artificial Intelligence. From the first moment, I got in touch with AI I knew that this is what I wanted to engage with. Back then, I was spending most of my time researching and learning around it. In my 5th semester, I had the chance to collaborate with some of the best students and friends of mine at the Institute for our first big project. We developed an innovative Android application to help users take optimal decisions with the use of scientific algorithms. Later, things became even more interesting when I learned about Machine Learning, Neural Networks and especially reinforcement learning. Through them I got a lot better in Python and I acquired experience in frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras and libraries such as scikit learn and Pandas. During my studies, also, took some classes about web development and built a website for online courses with the use of JavaScript, PHP, CSS, and SQL. Furthermore, I did my thesis whose subject is time-scheduling drones in order to minimize damages and losses during physical or not disasters. This project has been a great opportunity, because I had the chance to collaborate with an excellent supervisor and expert in the field. During my research I came across new library technologies such as the CPLEX from IBM for optimization and I also acquired a deeper understanding of problem modeling, heuristic, and metaheuristic algorithms. I have knowledge of a variety of languages and there is not a thing like a barrier language in programming for me. I have mostly written in Python and Java which are object-oriented. Furthermore, I have taken and aced classes about rule-based programming with Prolog and Clips and learned how to create ontologies with OWL and RDFS. Sure, there are more like C/C++, MatLab, etc. but I love programming and I am a fast learner, so I am always open on learning new things. Finally, I would describe myself as someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, responsible, and hard-working person. I would like to put these characteristics to use within your organization.
