About Martyn David

Martyn is currently based in Pontypridd in the South Wales Valleys and works as an Entitlement Officer in the local Youth Service. He has held various positions in the service since joining in 2009 and was also the elected Youth Mayor for the County Borough between 2013 and 2015. Martyn graduated from the University of South Wales in 2014 with a BA in Journalism, and throughout his studies took on a range of challenges - in his first year of study he was the first to take on the Community and Citizenship Student Voice Representative portfolio, and in his third year he became Features Editor for the Independent student newspaper, The Insight. Martyn is passionate about Youth Participation and supporting young people to have a voice, the creative arts industry in Wales, and is an equality and diversity champion heavily involved in raising awareness of homophobia and other issues that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans* community face - between 2011 - 2014 Martyn founded and ran the Bridges project to support young LGBTQ people in his community and engaged with over young people and professionals. His hobbies include creative writing, cooking, baking and traveling, as well as spending time with his family and friends (and animals!)
