About Mary Lyden

Experienced housing professional, stakeholder manager and policy manager, having led a range of projects and programmes in the public sector. This has included supporting RSL’s in preparing their annual return (ARC) on the Scottish Social Housing Charter and in improving their compliance with regulatory standards of governance and financial management. I also have a wide ranging background which includes managing investment programmes for housing development in the social housing sector in Glasgow, and enterprise development in the charity and voluntary sector when working with Scottish Government Third Sector Division. In addition, whilst working Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, I led on the development of a project plan to maximise the potential job, training and business opportunities to emerge from the Glasgow Housing Stock Transfer. Registered with EVH as a Special/Interim Manager since August 2014. Awarded a Public appointment in 2012 to the Scottish Government Home Owner Housing Panel following the introduction of the Property Factors Scotland Act 2011 and to the Private Rented Housing Panel (both now part of the Housing and Property Chamber) set up to enforce the 'repairing standard' as set out in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006. The Housing and Property Chamber now forms part of the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland Tribunal Service. This jurisdiction was recently expanded further, with new legislation introducing applications in respect of Private Sector Rented Cases and Private Residential Tenancies. Graduate of the Common Purpose Leadership Programme (2007). Given ‘Partnership Working Award’ from Govan Initiative for leading on the resolution of a range of issues affecting housing investment in the Govan area. Recently appointed to the General Regulatory Chamber and the new Social Security Chamber in late 2020.
