About Mathieu Vokaer

Dr Mathieu Vokaer, MD is Head of the department of Neurosciences of the CHIREC hospital group in Brussels, Belgium. This department is composed of a hundred of people involved in Neurosciences including neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and psychologists deployed in 4 different hospitals of the CHIREC group. He is also Head of the department of Neurology of the Delta Hospital and Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic of the CHIREC group based in the Delta Hospital in Brussels. He joined the CHIREC group as Multiple Sclerosis Specialist in 2012. He completed his medical training at the University of Brussels (ULB) in Belgium, where he graduated in 2001, and went on to specialize in Neurology, graduating in 2007 (with two years as research fellow at the institute for medical immunology between 2003 and 2005). Before joining the CHIREC group, he was Head of the Clinical Neuroimmunology Unit in the department of Neurology of the Erasmus academic hospital in Brussels. He also participated in numerous clinical trials in the field of multiple sclerosis ranging from phase II to IV. He has published more than 20 peer reviewed articles, 4 book chapters and presented more than 20 posters and congress communications. Finally, he collaborates regularly with the Belgian MS society and is an active member of the Belgian Multiple Sclerosis Study Group.
