About Matt Kenyon

Parenting, as I see it, is just leadership. Be a leader not a dictator. Good leadership is based on relationships and trust. As you build trust and connection with the child, they stop seeing you as a dictator, who just tells them what to do, and you build a partnership where you guide and they get the feeling of safety that they so desperately crave. I work with caregivers and their families who want to improve their family relationship and related skills. Typically my clients are struggling to connect and communicate with their teen or tween. Working together we will build skills to make it easier to communicate with your developing young person and be a positive influence in their life. You don't have to argue with your teens and treen; you can parent without yelling. You can have the family relationship you want. You really can! I come from a background as a communicator, leader, trained professional coach, and trauma-informed adoptive parent. My son is what started my journey to freedom, and helping others. It was not long after we brought our son, we'll call him A, into our home that I started to feel an itch for something more. My journey has allowed me to give A the home life he needed.
