About Matt Shock

Driven educational leader with over 15 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with students, their support systems, and schoolwide departments. Strong commitment to nurturing staff development and student achievement around the school’s mission statement. I have had the fortune of working in a variety of academic settings, including aresidential treatment facility and one of the first alternative online secondary schools. In these roles, I have established a student-centered classroom that supports individualized learning. Through differentiated instruction and the leveraging of educational technology, I have successfully tailored curriculum for diverse student populations. I am well-versed at building educational content through various Learning Management Systems (Apex Learning, Canvas, D2l Brightspace, Moodle, etc.) and delivering synchronous instruction using Canvas, Engageli,Newrow, and Blackboard Collaborate. My responsibilities have also afforded me opportunities to advise students, their support systems, and to mentor new teachers in the world of online learning. In addition to my teaching experiences, I lend personalized support for elementary to college-aged students as a one-on-one tutor in a diverse range of content areas.
