To borrow from St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:2,"I have resolved to know nothing among you except Christ and Him Crucified." As an ordained Lutheran Pastor, this means serving those entrusted to my care by proclaiming to them the message of the cross (that is, declaring the forgiveness of sins for the sake of Christ's all-sufficient sacrificial death) which is the power of God for those who are being saved (1 Corinthians 1:18). Outside of my specific responsibilities to preach the Gospel and administer the sacraments according to Christ's institution and command within the specific congregation to which I have been called, it means continuing to live as one who has been buried with Christ in my baptism and raised to newness of life through my rebirth from above (John 3:3 ff). To that end, I seek to continue learn and grow and build upon all that God has led me to experience in my life so that I may apply myself and put it all to use in order to contend for the faith once-for-all delivered to the saints.(Jude 3)
