About Matthew Doyle

I am a connector and builder of relationships. Whether it is connecting companies to academic researchers for industry-sponsored research, connecting researchers to other researchers for academic collaborations, or connecting people in my network to other contacts for job leads, I always like to connect with new people and connect them to my network. Building and fostering relationships is a large part of my current role as the Industry Engagement Manager for the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. I help companies achieve their research and development goals by connecting them with academic researchers for collaborative project. In addition, I facilitate applications for funding and negotiate business and legal terms in agreements. I also present to ecosystem partners and organizations about working with the university and researchers about working with industry. Previously, I led a successful academic research team working at the intersection of mechanical/biomedical engineering and cardiovascular surgery. I wrote 11 successful grants (>$1M in total funding), supervised >30 students to successful completion of the degrees/projects, published >35 academic papers, and presented at >35 conferences.
