Materials engineer with 20 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing specializing in process engineering for coatings for aerospace and industrial gas turbines. Experience includes thermal spraying of ceramics and metallic coatings, composite coatings, erosion protection, aluminide diffusion coatings, heat treat processing. Coating processes covered include Air Plasma Spraying (APS) with and without cascaded arc technology, high velocity oxy fuel(HVOF), low and high pressure cold spray, low pressure plasma Spraying (LPPS), aluminizing. Further experience includes design and engineering of ceramic thermal barrier and abradable coatings for gas turbine engines. This experience includes the design of powders and processing for optimization of coatings in production. Design of tooling for processing of gas turbine components. Development of robotic equipment for finishing operations. Testing of coatings including furnace cycling, gradient thermal testing, erosion testing, wear testing, abradability test, CMAS. Hobbies: Design and 3D printing (built my own 3D printer) for investment casting of aluminum and brass art, tools and other fun stuff!
