HM Health and Safety Inspector with 21+ years experience working for the UK’s health and safety regulator, and previous experience of team management in the public sector and working within the private sector.My roles involved working to protect people's health and safety by making sure risks in the workplace are properly controlled. I worked with many different organisations to ensure employers comply with health and safety legislation and that workplaces are not the cause of ill health or injury. This includes ensuring the safety and wellbeing of workers, contractors and members of public.Between 2021-2023 I was in the Chemicals, Explosives & Major Hazards Division (CEMHD) acting as COMAH Intervention Manager for various sites. Between 2018-2021 I Wales Engagement Partner working with others across Wales to improve safety and health. In particular, reaching out to organisations and other regulators to improve engagement at all levels and to support improvements in the workplace. Also, HSE Welsh Language Coordinator.From 2009 until 2014 I led on developing, strategic policy for Health and Social Care Services Unit (HSCSU) at HSE. This included supporting both HSE and LA Inspectors in their regulatory work and developing standards and guidance for the sector. Also led the development of working agreements with co-regulators in Wales.Previously employed in Public Rights of Way and as a Countryside Warden.
