About Matthew Stein

I have over 10 years of experience in various office, administrative, supervisory, bookkeeping, accounting, and customer service positions. My working career began at before age 18 working about 5 hours a week at my synagogue's twice a week religious school, following a summer stint working full-time at Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development. Next, I joined the family art gallery business as an office assistant, graduating high school and becoming an office administrator. After three years of college and some accounting experience and became an administrative accountant, getting promoted to administrative accountant upon graduation. I continued to assist the business while in college remotely and over the summers and continue to work their today. During college, I studied accounting & organizational behavior. I actively participated in Hillel, accounting club, and student government events. I took a work study job on the conversion crew at Agganis Arena @ Boston University, getting promoted to student supervisor at the end of my junior year. My junior year, I interned for Afable Consulting as a Non-Profit Accounting Associate based out of the Changing World's office in Chicago's Chinatown. After graduation I went back to the family business to use my new found knowledge. I became responsible for posting to the general ledger, maintaining detailed AP/AR records, payroll, journal entries, financial reports, closings, inventory, and reconciliations. I stayed busy by always holding a second job or volunteering. I am also studying for the GMAT to get my MBA. My goal is to get some experience outside of the family business and get an MBA & CPA. CPA ELIGIBLE.
