About Matthew Tifft

I am a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana with a degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of New Orleans. Over the course of my studies I became proficient at using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. I also managed both teams and projects. While attending the University of New Orleans, I was also voted Vice President and then President of the Society for Earth and Environmental Sciences. This student organization was responsible for fundraising as well as student outreach. My primary responsibility was running the annual University Mineral Auction. My duties on this project included overseeing a team and assigning roles, budgeting, product selection, meeting with vendors, soliciting donations, alumni and digital outreach, venue selection, and accounting. Additionally, I have twelve years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry including management duties. I am skilled at communicating with the public and helping answer questions that they might have. Other skills that I have learned are answering phone calls and emails on a prompt basis, point of sale registers, and cash handling. As a long term employee, I was also trusted with opening and closing duties, as well as writing schedules.
