When I joined Ciloa in 2017 as CFO and investor, I was convinced that the extraordinary and disruptive innovation developed by the company could revolutionize the undruggable approach in a wide range of diseases. Today we are very close to our goals. The company is indeed deploying its solution for metabolic diseases, associated in particular with type 2 diabetes, obesity and MASH which is an alternative to current conventional cares. The innovative approach developed by Ciloa consists in restoring the hypoadiponectinemia (low level of adiponectin-natural hormone) which has high correlations with severe metabolic troubles. Adiponectin has long been recognized as natural metabolic regulators, a “guardian angel” hormone. Our lead candidate APN-EVs has been tested on a validated (diabetes) mouse model, and the results are unique. The animals regained glycemic balance, normal weight, reduction in bad fats, a notable improvement in insulin sensitivity and muscle mass is totally preserved. Next steps : clinical trials.
