Mehereen successfully transitioned from academia to public service by leveraging research and evaluation skills to provide evidence-based solutions to complex issues at the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario. Mehereen is an inclusive, enthusiastic, and strategic team builder with expertise in strategic planning, implementation, and delivery of large-scale projects to serve the most vulnerable people in Ontario. She is focused on developing and nurturing her team in alignment with her core of value of ubuntu or “moving ahead together”. She strives to foster a culture where her team members and colleagues feel empowered to seek out innovative resolutions, have appropriate support and access for their personal and professional development. Mehereen is also a firm believer in the adage that mistakes are opportunities for continuous improvement and encourages her team to develop nimble and agile strategies to successfully gets the job done. Mehereen is also a change leader who strives to bring equitable and authentic leadership for the delivery of meaningful social services to the children and youth in Ontario
