About Mehran Bhatti

I am an Environmental Scientist with over 6 years of experience delivering environmental solutions in consulting and research environments across Canada, Malaysia, and Pakistan. Currently part of the Contamination Assessment and Remediation (CAR) team at GHD Limited in Calgary, I lead the execution of Phase II and Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), manage complex field programs, and contribute to technical reporting aligned with Alberta Tier 1 and Tier 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines, as well as federal environmental regulations and objectives, including those related to emerging contaminants such as PFAS. My areas of expertise include groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling, borehole drilling oversight, and air quality monitoring. I am also experienced in technical report writing, data interpretation, subcontractor coordination, and mentoring junior staff in field and office settings. Originally from Pakistan, I gained international experience through GHG reduction projects, regulatory policy research, and remediation-focused environmental analysis in Malaysia before immigrating to Canada in 2022. This global perspective strengthens my ability to work on multidisciplinary teams and contribute to practical, sustainable outcomes in complex field environments. Beyond my technical responsibilities, I actively contribute to my organization’s culture and values. I serve as a Sustainability Champion for Western Canada, host Lunch and Learn sessions for our CAR team, and volunteer as a Truck Manager for the Calgary office. I also support the Emergency Response Team, demonstrating my reliability and adaptability outside of scheduled fieldwork. I am passionate about fieldwork, safety, and continuous learning. My goal is to apply science and collaboration to build cleaner, safer, and more resilient communities.
