About Melesha Devine

I am a committed and experienced qualified Social Worker with a wealth of knowledge across a number of specilaist areas. I currently work as an Independent Social Worker, undertaking Form F Assessments and annual home reviews.I am also experienced in delivering specialist training for parent and child placements, and have developed a programme of training for foster carers working with parent/child placements to include observation, teaching parenting skills, recording information and managing dilemmas arising from such placements. I have experience in undertaking PAR assessments, special guardianship reports, complex connected persons assessments and investigating complaints against foster carers. Alongside this, I also work part time in a Local Authority Parenting Assessment Team; assessing parents with learning disabilities, mental health issues, negelct, sexual abuse and capacity to protect issues. I have been instrumental in developing good practice in working with parents with a learning disability. In addition, I attend Court in the capacity of an expert witness with regard to my assessments. I have a specialist interest in developing good practice with parents with a learning disability, and also supporting parent/child placements in working with parents with a learning need.
