About Melissa Lickteig

They say variety is the spice of life. My background certainly covers a variety of professions. At the College of DuPage I majored in Business and minored in Graphic Arts planning to work in the development of camera ready advertising. Plans changed when I left college (in 1974 with one semester to finish) to become a Owner/Operator of a Baskin Robbins 31 Ice Cream store in Hutchinson, Ks. Within this position I handled every aspect of the store; from serving customers, decorating cakes, payroll, paying bills, training/supervising employees, restocking/ordering ice cream and paper goods. Again plans changed in 1976, I moved back to IL to manage another Baskin Robbins store. In 1979 I worked for Bally/Midway in their Accounts Payable department and was also their Newsletter Editor. From 1985 to 1992 I taught a student all of the subjects of grades 6 through high school through the direction and under the accreditation of Christian Liberty Academy Satellite School. Changing again in 1993 I worked for Fortune Insurance starting in the Mailroom and moving up to the Property Department until The Home Health Care field was my next position from to 2006. Last but not least, in 2008, I became a Florida state licensed Community Association Manager working for the Southern Oaks Association. In July 2011, I resigned my Community Manager position to move back to Illinios to take care of an elderly aunt. Sadly, my aunt died soon after. Now back in the chicagoland suburbs I am looking to use my skills to enhance some lucky business in the area of Western Springs. Recently I was blessed to find a wonderful flea market for our business in Fulton, Illinois. The best part is working with my husband again as that is how we started out our married life it is just like old times.
