About Melissa Parker

I look for ways to improve work environments so that employees can be motivated to excel and deliver extra value to customers and the business. I have a special concern for people who have not had the chance to excel and prosper because of setbacks and have regularly taken a leadership role in situations where disadvantaged people need some practical help to move ahead. Building on my past education and work experience, I am currently learning how to deliver human resource and career development services in an effective and professional manner. My intent in taking the Career Development Practitioner course is to provide myself with the fundamental skills and knowledge in individual counselling and group facilitation and to become skilled with the mechanics of the process. I plan to commit my future professional career to working, preferably within my own community, to challenge equity issues by providing support to those who lack the tools, abilities or knowledge to have access to meaningful work.
