Background
About Menna Tarek
I am a Master’s student in Public Health and Community Medicine, currently pursuing my degree while training as a resident in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Over the past six years, I have gained extensive experience in public health, healthcare systems strengthening, advocacy and project management. Through my work with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations - IFMSA, I have led initiatives at local, national, and international levels, collaborating with UN agencies, facilitating policy consultations, and coordinating health advocacy campaigns to address global health challenges. In addition to my clinical training, I have valuable hands-on experience in primary healthcare through my work with the Egyptian Healthcare Authority, where I contributed to improving healthcare access and delivery, particularly in underserved communities. This role allowed me to refine my skills in community outreach, healthcare planning, and implementing patient-centred solutions.I have developed strong capabilities in leading cross-functional teams, managing health projects, and ensuring that public health programs are executed efficiently and effectively. My expertise also includes designing and implementing capacity-building programs, fostering cross-cultural collaboration, and using innovative approaches to address health disparities. I am passionate about integrating public health strategies with clinical care to improve health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations. As I continue my studies and residency training, I remain focused on using my skills and experience to drive systemic change and contribute to sustainable, patient-centred healthcare solutions.
